  Second hand story from an elder I useD to be freinds with in San Deigo.

  This brothers younger brother was in Bethel at the time (90-95?) and told him this story:

  A brother had a roomate who got caught being gay, and when caught he turned in his roomate(claims not gay) and said they were having sex.

  The so-called false accused brother then proceeded to brake his roomate's arm and forced his roomate to tell the investigating brothers it was all a lie.

  Then after it was all over and he was not going to get kicked out of bethel Dan Sydlick congradulated the young brother and said "Oficially that was not right, but unofficially nice going"

  THIS IS TRUE, AS THATS HOW I REMEMBER THE STORY,

  Maximus You make a very clear point.

  The name, BTW, is Kalandros. Nick. I've heard all SORTS of stories of things that occurred without anyone saying a word, during the night, "sleeping." Funny that kind of nonsense was accepted from males, but pity the poor female who did not SCREAM loud enough. Catamites for God, so that someone might not have to leave His house, Beth-El.

  That is a good point the Society is so full of doubble standards and what's really good is that it came from you Maximus a man and not a women I feel makes the point even louder.

  I was in Bethel from 1974(Nov.) to 1976(June) I left on the Mayflower (as they called it).

  And I remember there was a big scandle I think in 1975 but I can say for sure right now but if I had a couple of days to try to remember I would know for sure.

  Nathan Knorr I think, still had his complete power then. And he spoke to all us boys on the nightshift durring our breakfast, as well as the on the day shift workers breakfast. He ran on and on naming some names like our asistant floor overseer last name Sargeant I think,and Knorr went on and on about this guy telling how evil he was and how he used his cunning on his pray. And the suana was mentioned along with massage.

  This guy even did try something on me but he was too slick, he didn't get very far because I don't for that stuff, but it wasn't enough for me to know for sure he was, but when the story came out of Knorrs mouth I had no doubt he was gay.

  Anyway I do know a little more but that all for now.

  Did Ray Franz write COC out of anger?

  i asked my gf who is a jw but not an active one if she has ever read coc and she tells me she has and that his book was mostly lies about the organization and that's the reason he left was because he was tempted by a hooker and ended up sleeping with her.

  he told the elders what he did because he was looking for help and he ended up getting df.

  later he found out he ended up contract hiv.

  You must love her, but you got some serious problems down the road if you marry her.

  What kind of communication do you think you will have if she stays a JW?

  And isn't that what makes or breaks a marriage.

  So How Bad Is It To Be DF'd Really Then?

  i've never regretted getting myself disfellowshipped.. for me it was a definite pre-meditated action.

  i had realised months earlier that my belief in the teachings of the wtbts was at a total zero.

  i simply could not face another meeting, another hour in the ministry, another watchtower telling me that yet another activity was likely to distract me from wt teachings.. my parents were already besides themselves with worry, i think that when they heard that i had been df'd it was almost a relief to them.

  All in all it wasn't that bad for me, I don't have a problem with making new freinds and that helps i also have lots of things that keep me busy.

  Most of my family still keep in touch but are alittle more distant. I truly feel for those whose family follow the hard line of WT policy.

  When I read the book I was struck by its lack of hate towards the GB.

  While he exposes the GB and organizations claims of being God's organization, I feel it was done in a honest way with documented proof that a member of the GB would be entitled to have in his possession.

  As far as any anger on his part I would expect their had to be some but he seems to have it well under control as anyone who claims to be Christian should.

  The book I feel was well written and gives the ordinary rank & file a peak into the secret workings of the GB.

  secondarily, the question has been: are jehovahs witnesses really jehovahs witnesses?

  or, perhaps worded differently: is the watchtower really the voice of christs appointed faithful and discreet slave of prophecy?

  Brothers I like to bring this as evidence of some of the not so upbuilding things that You Know is saying about the Society concerning a thread about pedophiles on the J-W.com forum as you see it's very incriminating I left out some of his post so we can home in on the real, shall we say important evidence. I've taken the liberty of omitting certain phrases just like the Society does in their publications so I think what I did is very theocratic.

  There's no question about it that the Watchtower has gotten themselves in a real mess with this thing... Now, though, it appears that there is going to be maximum reproach brought upon Jehovah as well as everyone upon whom his name is called. That is going to hurt a lot of innocent people and yet it will not remove the sexual predators from our midst. It may result in some sort of policy change, but big deal!...
  It may be that it is now time for Jehovah to call... to judgment. It would certainly appear that way from the ferment and apathy among ...people. Jesus said that nothing concealed will not be brought to light. If the Society is guilty as charged with the way they have handled this pedophile issue, then by all means, we welcome Jehovah’s punishment...for stumbling others and bringing reproach upon his name. So, yes, Jehovah is going to put us through an ordeal ...until everything is set right by his own direct intervention... for the Watchtower to be silenced, as the Scriptures say they will be,... Who said October is not going to be interesting?

  First I'd like to say welcome to the board.

  Like it has been said before the scriptures you use were written in the 1st century and circumstances back then were much different then than today.

  Any religion can use the Scriptures you just quote the same way you are using them, did you ever think of that?

  So I guess the real question is is there only one organization that God calls his on earth today?

  Or does God even work thru an organization?

  Or is it that we each individually must prove faithful and what organization we belong to has little or no bearing on our standing before him.

  is it safe to buy old watchtower publication from garage sales or from on-line outlets like ebay?.

  is it possible for demons to attach themselves to these "old light" publications?

  what could be the effect?.

  I read somewhere that if you keep your single edge razor blades in card board replica of Pastor Russel pyramids they will forever stay sharp.

  And never expose your razor blade to the light of a full moon (ouch).

  Can you be DF'd for obesity?

  if jw's can be(or should i say are) df'd for smoking, why aren't people df'd for obesity.. it seems they say that you are violating your body and hurting it from smoking but i've never seen a person live over the age of 80 that was obese.

  just seems like being obese is worse than smoking.

  I think in that instance they would show christian kindness and just sympathize with you, and mention how you have righteous indignation but that you just need to use a better choice of words.
